Over 15 lakh beneficiaries in the state have not completed e-KYC. Supplies Minister Krishna Chandra Patra advised ration cardholders a few days ago that they needed to complete their e-KYC by last month.
As a result, it is worth noting that the state administration would either halt distributing grains to lakhs of people or make alternate arrangements. The government has begun the e-KYC process to eliminate ineligible beneficiaries from ration cards.
As of October 29, only 15 lakh 57 thousand 265 recipients had not completed e-KYC. The majority of beneficiaries in Ganjam district have not participated in this process. Similarly, ineligible beneficiaries avoid undertaking e-KYC for fear of being detected. Many beneficiaries have been unable to update their information due to network issues in distant locations.
The central government has now halted the e-KYC procedure, according to Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister Krishna Chandra Patra. He also stated that currently, 15 lakh 67 thousand beneficiaries in the state of Odisha have not completed KYC.
Rice was supplied to people who did not complete KYC in October, but it will be stopped in November. According to reports, those who do not comply with the e-KYC process will not receive rice beginning November 1. However, if the central government extends the time limit in the coming days, the state government will do the same.
