Odisha is expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall until August 21, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the most recent weather forecast, severe rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is expected in one or two locations across the districts of Bolangir, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar on August 18.
On August 19, heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) is expected in one or two locations over Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda districts. Similarly, IMD has projected significant rainfall (7 to 11 cm) at one or two sites over the districts of Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Bargarh on August 20.
On August 21, the IMD projected severe rainfall (7 to 11 cm) in one or two locations over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Bargarh.
According to IMD predictions, light to moderate rain with thundershowers are highly likely to occur in a few areas in North Odisha and one or two spots across South Odisha on August 22, 23, and 24.
