The temperature in Odisha is forecast to rise dramatically beginning March 1, with some interior parts reaching 37-38°C.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, the temperature is also expected to reach 37°C on March 1.
On Sunday, Paralakhemundi reached 36°C while Malkangiri recorded 35.6°C. Other regions, such as Balangir, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda, recorded temperatures ranging from 34 to 35°C. Bhubaneswar reported a temperature of 33.3°C.
Meanwhile, several sections of Odisha, including Bhadrak, Chandbali, and Balasore, received mild rain on Sunday.
Furthermore, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast heavy rain and thunderstorms in eight districts today.
According to the IMD advisory, eight districts are likely to be affected by meteorological conditions: Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
The IMD has recommended residents of these districts to take necessary precautions and stay indoors during thunderstorms and heavy rains.
The temperature in other parts of the state, such as Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Sambalpur, has also decreased dramatically in the last 24 hours.
