TPSODL has issued a strong warning to its consumers about untrustworthy bill collectors.
An unlicensed individual named Animesh Biswas was recently detected in the Malkangiri division, using fake mobile point-of-sale equipment to collect bills.
These receipts were missing critical information such as consumer numbers and the TPSODL logo.
To ensure receipt legitimacy, TPSODL has recommended consumers to use recognized payment methods.
The DISCOM encouraged consumers to check for authorization from bill collectors such as availability of consumer number, overdue payments, due date, and so on, as this information is available with bill collectors.
“If anything, suspicious found, consumer can immediately reach out to 24*7 Toll-Free Helpline at 1800-345-6797/1912 of TPSODL. It is important to report any unsanctioned bill collection attempts without valid TPSODL receipts. Stay vigilant and protect your payments,” TPSODL stated.
