Today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik arrived at the scene of the train disaster in Balasore’s Bahanaga. The CM reviewed the continuing relief and rescue activities, accompanied by 5T Secretary VK Pandian.
Naveen also spoke briefly with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who arrived to the site this morning. During the CM’s inspection of the railway accident, Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi, DG Police Sunil Bansal, senior police officials, SP Sagarika Nath, and senior district administration officials were present.
The CM then went to the district headquarters hospital in Balasore to assess the medical care given to the injured passengers.
Speaking to reporters outside the district headquarters hospital in Balasore, the CM said, “Railway safety should always be given the first preference. The people have been taken to hospitals in Balasore and Cuttack so that they recover as soon as possible.”
