Despite a chilly wave sweeping Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted no change in weather conditions for the next two days on Wednesday. While the nights will be bitterly cold, shallow to moderate fog will form in numerous sections of the state, interfering with regular life.
Meanwhile, intense fog developed in one or two areas over the interior Odisha districts of Sundargarh, Koraput, and Kandhamal. Shallow fog was reported in one or two locations in the interior Odisha districts of Kalahandi and Keonjhar.
Minimum temperatures fell noticeably in one or two districts in southern and central Odisha, but no significant change was reported elsewhere. They were significantly lower than typical in one or two places in interior Odisha, appreciably below normal in a few places in coastal Odisha, and at a few places in Odisha.
The highest maximum temperature of 29.6°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 7.0°C was recorded at G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district of Odisha.
