Cold nights are expected to resume to Odisha from Wednesday, with the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a 3°C -5°C dip in minimum temperature beginning tomorrow. While the cold is expected to worsen across the state in the first week of January, the meteorological office has issued a dense fog warning in various districts of Odisha, including Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh.
The weather office predicts that the night temperature in Koraput and Phulbani would be 10°C, followed by Rourkela and Jharsuguda (12°C), Bolangir, Nuapada, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, and Khurdha (13°C) on New Year’s Day.
Aside from that, mild to moderate rain is forecast in several areas of the state on January 7 and 8.
In the last 24 hours, G Udayagiri was the coldest place in Odisha recording a minimum temperature of 11.5°C.
