Odisha is set to endure another heat wave beginning on Tuesday, according to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional center in Bhubaneswar. According to the weather office, daytime temperatures (highest temperature) are expected to rise by 3°C to 5°C over the following three to four days.
The IMD wrote on its X handle, “The maximum temperature (day temperature) likely to rise by 3°C-5°C during the next 3 to 4 days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.” However, it is unlikely that heatwave conditions will return shortly.
At the same time, certain areas of the state are expected to have scattered light to moderate rainfall, as well as thundershowers, throughout this time.
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur in one or two places including Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Rayagada, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha on Tuesday. Similarly, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur in one or two places in Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Bargarh, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha on Wednesday, the IMD said.
Meanwhile, many places in Odisha received moderate rainfall due to the impact of Severe Cyclone ‘Remal’.
