Over the past 24 hours, minimum temperatures (overnight temperatures) have risen dramatically throughout Odisha, with fewer locations registering nighttime temperatures of 10°C. The only two locations in the state whose nightly lows fell below 10°C were Similiguda (9°C) and Daringbadi in Kandhamal (8.5°C), with Koraput continuing to be the coldest area in the state with a minimum temperature of 7°C.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday that the minimum temperature in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack was 16.9°C and 16.5°C, respectively.
The weather office stated that there won’t be any significant changes to the current weather for the next two days and that the minimum temperature will gradually rise throughout the week. Most of Odisha is predicted to see dry weather during the next few days.
In the meantime, moderate to dense fog reduced visibility in a few locations throughout Odisha this morning. In Rourkela, Sonepur, Paradip, Phulbani, Kendrapada, and others, dense fog interfered with daily life. In Bhubaneswar, Bhawanipatna, Koraput, Jharsuguda, and Keonjhar, there was shallow to moderate fog.
Dense fog is likely to occur in a few places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput during the next 24 hours.
