A cyclonic circulation over south Bangladesh and bordering Gangetic West Bengal is expected to cause moderate to heavy rain in many Odisha districts until August 20, according to the India Meteorological Department on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for 12 districts, including Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Balasore, and Bhadrak. There is a risk of heavy rain in some areas of these districts. These districts are expected to receive 11 centimeters of rainfall on Friday.
On Saturday, heavy rain is expected in several areas of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Bhadrak. These districts may receive 7–11 centimeters of rain. Therefore, a yellow warning has been issued to these nine districts.
On Sunday, the IMD issued a yellow alert for Bargarh, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar. These districts are expected to receive 7 to 11 centimeters of rain.
Some areas in the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonapur, and Deogarh are expected to receive 7 to 11 cm of rain on Monday. As a result, yellow warnings have been issued for these district.
