The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has expected light to moderate rain/thundershowers with lightning in 20 districts of Odisha on Tuesday and Wednesday.
A yellow rain advisory has been issued across north and south Odisha for Tuesday due to the probability of lightning and rain. The yellow alert is in effect in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir, and Bargarh districts.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau predicts the creation of another depression in the west-central Bay of Bengal on October 6. As a result, the intensity of rainfall in the state will increase beginning October 4. Between October 4 and 10, scattered rain will fall across the state. In other words, Odisha is likely to have a wet spell during the ensuing Durga Puja festivities.
The state has received 1092 mm of rain during this monsoon from June 1 and faces a 5 per cent rain deficit as of now, the IMD said.
