On Saturday, several sections of the state are likely to have one or two spells of heavy rains accompanied by thundershowers.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), at least 21 districts in Odisha are very likely to suffer very heavy rainfall during the first half of the day.
The Met Department has issued an orange alert in this regard. According to reports, the IMD forecast notice will be in effect for the next two to three hours, until 10 a.m.
“People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places.” The districts which are under watch for heavy rains today are:
Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Naygarh, Khurda, (Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (Cuttack city), Puri, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundergarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam.
