Despite the impact of Kalbaisakhi in some Odisha districts over the last two days, the state appears to be experiencing an intense heatwave. On Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar issued a yellow notice for a heatwave in seven state districts.
According to the weather service, heatwave conditions are expected in one or two locations in Balasore, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, and Nuapada today. At the same time, hot and humid weather is expected in one or two locations in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
According to the IMD, there will be no significant change in weather conditions over the next 24 hours, and day temperatures (maximum temperatures) will gradually climb by 4°C -6°C beginning April 26 in several parts of Odisha.
The weather agency predicts that Odisha will experience a severe heatwave beginning April 26. The IMD has issued an orange heatwave warning for Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, and Khurda on Friday.
