The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional center here anticipated heavy to very heavy rainfall in numerous regions of Odisha between July 28 and 31 and August 1 due to a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal. The meteorological office predicted 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm of rain for the state over this time period in a tweet.
Rainfall in Odisha is predicted to increase as the low-pressure system returns to its typical location from the south beginning July 30.
The IMD issued a yellow rain warning for five Odisha districts on Friday, including Nuapada, Bargarh, Balangir, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
Meanwhile, the seasonal cumulative rainfall from June 1 to July 28 is 452.8 mm, which is lower than the average figure of 515.6 mm. During the period, 12 districts in Odisha had insufficient rain, two districts received excessive rain, and the remaining 16 districts received regular rainfall.
