Odisha Weather Updates: Over the next 24 hours, a well-defined low-pressure region over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-West Bengal coasts is likely to cause severe rainfall in numerous districts of Odisha.
The regional center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that the intensity of rain will slightly diminish on Friday and then increase again on September 18.
The IMD has issued a red warning for heavy rain in six districts, while light to moderate rain or thundershowers are anticipated in the rest of the state. According to the weather service, scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) with isolated really heavy rainfall (>20cm) is quite possible over the districts of Bolangir, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Bargarh, Nuapada, and Sambalpur.

Heavy rains have caused damage in eight blocks of Koraput and six blocks of Kalahandi. The excessive Odisha weather has seriously affected 155 communities in 21 blocks.
