Over the past day, the temperature has been steadily climbing throughout Odisha despite heavy fog in various areas of the state.
As per the data provided by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional office in Bhubaneswar, Kirei recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 10.6°C during the past 24 hours, making it the coldest place in the state. Koraput came in second with a minimum temperature of 12.6°C.
Most of Odisha saw a 2°C–3°C increase in overnight temperatures as a result of a mild winter.
The minimum temperature in the capital city of Bhubaneswar was 19.1°C, while Cuttack recorded 17.0°C.
Meanwhile, dense fog covered several places in the state reducing visibility significantly. According to the IMD, the sky would remain cloudy in coastal Odisha and some places may experience light showers/rain during the day.
