Rainfall is still falling in some parts of Odisha due to a low-pressure system that formed over Gangetic West Bengal and its surrounding territories. Another low-pressure region is projected to emerge tomorrow, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which will likely make the rainy situation worse.
The IMD predicts that the combined impact of the two low-pressure systems will cause significant rainfall to continue throughout the state until August 27. Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj are the four districts where a yellow alert for heavy rainfall has been issued today. In several areas of the state, there is a chance of rain along with lightning and thunder.
Twenty areas have received a rainfall warning from the IMD, and further rain is predicted starting tomorrow. All districts are under a yellow alert for tomorrow.
At Rajghat, the water level is close to the danger mark, putting the Subarnarekha River at risk of flooding once more. The water level was 10.35 meters as of 6 am, only a centimeter below the 10.36-meter danger alarm.
It is recommended that residents in flood-prone areas exercise vigilance and take the appropriate safety measures. People have been advised by the IMD to remain vigilant and keep up with the most recent weather reports.
