Odisha’s coastal districts are bracing for severe heat and sultry weather over the next three days, with the India Meteorological Department issuing a yellow warning for 11 districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
According to IMD forecasts, hot and humid weather will persist in the following days as a result of high temperatures and atmospheric moisture levels. Daytime temperatures are forecast to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next two days, with no further substantial changes anticipated. Thundershowers may also occur in some regions of the state around this time, providing temporary reprieve from the heat.
Residents should take the appropriate precautions to protect themselves from heat-related health concerns. To reduce the risks, avoid prolonged sun exposure, particularly between 12 and 4 p.m.
Staying hydrated is also important. Drinking plenty of water and eating hydrating fruits like watermelon, cucumber, and oranges can help your body stay cool and rejuvenated.
Additionally, protecting your skin from the intense sun is critical. Using sunscreen with SPF 50+, carrying umbrellas, and wearing UV-protective sunglasses can all help protect against the sun’s damaging rays.
