A cyclonic circulation over north Chhattisgarh is highly likely to bring light to moderate rain with thundershowers to Odisha over the next seven days, according to the IMD’s mid-day weather report on Sunday.
The bulletin read, “The cyclonic circulation over north Chhattisgarh and its neighbourhood now lies over the same region, extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height.”
Adding on the IMD bulletin stated, “The Monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Kota, Damoh, Pendra Road, Balasore, and thence southeastwards to the East-central Bay of Bengal, extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.”
The majority of the state’s interior districts experienced light to moderate rainfall today, with a few exceptions in the coastal region.
Meanwhile, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, and Bargarh districts have seen significant rains in one or two locations.
The highest maximum temperature was 34.7°C at Paralakhemundi, while the lowest minimum temperature was 22.3°C in Sonepur.
Weather forecast for twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack: Generally cloudy skies with one or two periods of rain or thundershowers. Maximum and lowest temperatures are predicted to be around 33°C and 27°C, respectively.
