The day temperature will continue to rise above normal by 2°C to 4°C in many places across Odisha over the next five days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
Although there has been no significant change in both maximum temperature (day temperature) and minimum temperature (night temperature) in the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature (day temperature) is expected to gradually rise by 2°C to 4°C over the next five days in many parts of Odisha, according to the IMD bulletin on Monday.
Bhubaneswar and surrounding areas will have mostly clear skies that will turn partly cloudy in the afternoon/evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 35°C and 21°C respectively in and around the capital city, the bulletin said.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed across Odisha’s districts, with dense fog forming in one location over the district of Bhadrak in north coastal Odisha. Shallow to moderate fog was observed in one or two locations over the coastal Odisha districts of Jagatsinghpur and Ganjam.
The minimum temperatures in Odisha’s districts did not change significantly. They were above normal in many districts across Interior Odisha, a few districts across Coastal Odisha, below normal in one or two districts across Interior Odisha, and normal in many districts across Coastal Odisha and a few districts across Interior Odisha.
Malkangiri and Boudh had the highest maximum temperature of 37.5°C and the lowest minimum temperature of 13.5°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.
