The India Meteorological Department’s regional office predicts light to moderate rain with thundershowers throughout Odisha today.
Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapara districts may see significant rains in isolated areas.
Meanwhile, Angul, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, and Bolangir are predicted to receive severe rainfall, according to IMD forecasts.
The regional weather service has issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for the aforementioned districts.
The Twin-city forecast expects a high temperature of 32°C and a low of 27°C in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, with one to two spells of moderate rain and thundershowers.
he India Meteorological Department has cautioned fishermen operating on the Odisha coast about extreme weather conditions through its mid-day bulletin issued on Wednesday.
“Due to a strong monsoon current, squally weather with wind speeds reaching 45 kmph to 55 kmph, gusting up to 65 kmph, is likely to prevail over most parts of the north Bay of Bengal and along and off the Odisha coast till July 26.” Read the notification.
Additionally, “rough to very rough sea conditions are likely to prevail over the north Bay of Bengal and along and off the Odisha coast till July 26. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the north Bay of Bengal and along and off the Odisha coast till July 26.”
