The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional office in here forecasted on Tuesday that north Odisha districts will likely get extensive rainfall over the next 24 hours, while moderate rain is expected in many parts in south Odisha today.
On Tuesday, the IMD issued a yellow warning for severe to very heavy rain in 11 Odisha districts. Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Angul, Deogarh, and Keonjhar are among these districts. At the same time, light rain is expected in the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Cuttack, Nabarangpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Dhenkanal today.
The Southwest Monsoon is active across the state, according to the weather service. Furthermore, most of the state is receiving heavy rain as a result of the influence of the low pressure established in the north Bay of Bengal. The state’s meteorological department has issued a rain advisory for the next two days.
During the next two days, the low-pressure region is expected to move toward north Madhya Pradesh.
