According to the most recent forecast from the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Odisha’s heat wave is anticipated to last for another five days.
The IMD stated in its most recent advisory, issued on Thursday morning, that a significant shift in day temperature (maximum temperature) is unlikely during the following four to five days. As a result, heat wave conditions and discomfort will persist.
Following a two-day dip in day temperature, Bhubaneswar registered 41°C at 11.30 a.m. on Thursday. “Coastal Odisha is likely to experience a significant rise in temperature on Thursday as the dry and hot air from the west and north-west blowing over the state is more active than in the last two days,” IMD tweeted.
According to the IMD, the daytime temperature in various regions of western Odisha has dipped marginally due to the influence of the Nor’wester. The weather office issued a yellow alert for the next two days, predicting that heat wave conditions will persist in western Odisha throughout this time.
According to the IMD, hot weather would prevail in Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur, and Bolangir districts, with temperatures expected to exceed 40°C. The nighttime temperature will also be 4°C -5°C higher than normal.
“There will be no change in temperature in the next four to five days.” However, the heat wave condition will improve after that,” claimed the IMD.
