The active deep depression in Gangetic West Bengal will travel westward and northward towards Jharkhand. It will gradually deteriorate over the next 12 hours, eventually turning into depression. As a result, rain will continue to fall throughout the state.
Sundargarh and Keonjhar districts have been issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain during the next 24 hours. A yellow notice for heavy rain has been issued in six districts: Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, and Angul. In some areas, rain may cause flash floods or waterlogging concerns.
However, due to severe rains in North Odisha, the water level of the Subarnarekha and Jalka rivers has crossed the danger signal. A danger signal has been put up on the Subarnarekha river. Similarly, near the Mathani road bridge, the water level warning sign of Jalka river has been put up. The water level of Bubhabalanga river is also increasing.
On Monday, the Special Relief Commissioner reviewed the situation in Mayurbhanj and Sundergarh, including the Balasore district. In Baltimore, ten fire departments, six ODRAF teams, and one NDRF team have been prepared.
Similarly, 12 fire departments, seven ODRAF, and one NDRF squad have been stationed in Mayurbhanj. Similipal National Park officials have also been asked to exercise caution due to heavy rains. The SRC has ordered that persons in flooded areas be evacuated to safer locations. There is also a risk of landslides in hilly terrain. However, the amount of rainfall in the state will reduce starting tomorrow.
