The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional office issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms and gale for 20 districts in Odisha on Wednesday for the next four days. Thundershowers are expected to persist along coastal, north, and south Odisha, according to the weather office.
Some areas in Odisha will see significant rains as a result of the cyclone’s impact over Telangana and Madhya Pradesh.
Strong winds are possible in the districts of Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal. The wind speed in these areas will be between 40 and 50 kilometers per hour.
Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Dhenkanal, Angul, Gajapati, and Ganjam districts are also predicted to have scattered lightning and rain.
On the other side, on June 6, a low-pressure region is expected to emerge in the Arabian Sea and East Central Bay of Bengal. According to the Center for Environment and Climate – CEC, which is run by the University of Education and Research, SOA, this may have an impact on the South-West Monsoon air flow to south and east India.
Dr Sarat Chandra Sahu, Director of CC, stated that the intensity and direction of this low-pressure region could affect the progress of the southwest monsoon. Except for west Odisha, the day temperature (highest temperature) has fallen somewhat in the state’s other districts. The humidity, however, is 75 to 80% due to abundant water vapor in the atmosphere.
