People are progressively feeling the winter chill in several parts of Odisha, particularly in the interior and northern regions of the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that in various parts of the coastal state, the minimum temperature (night temperature) has decreased during the past 24 hours by 2°C to 4°C.
Many cities had nighttime temperatures below 15°C, with the Koraput district in Odisha recording the lowest minimum temperature of 12.8°C. The IMD reports that G. Udayagiri, Kandhamal, recorded this month’s lowest temperature. On Tuesday, there was also fog in a few locations, which made visibility less.
Due to an easterly breeze coming into the state from the Bay of Bengal, the IMD forecasted that the weather in south Odisha would change starting today. According to the IMD regional office here, the weather will be cloudy in most areas with a chance of light to moderate rain in some. Odisha’s districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal could have mild precipitation through November 3.
