On Monday, the Odisha government’s Commerce & Transport Department announced two major addition to the Odisha Yatri app: the ability to book tickets for Chilika watercraft services, beginning with Satapada, and “Ama Bus.”
This is a major step in using innovation and technology to change the state’s travel and mobility experiences.
The latest update ensures increased accessibility, transparency, and convenience by enabling citizens to easily order tickets for government-operated buses under Ama Bus. In a similar manner, guests visiting Chilika can pick their favorite boating packages at Satapada, pick dates, pay using the Odisha Yatri app, and get a digital ticket with a QR code. At the boating point, where boats are assigned based on reservations made via the integrated system, this ticket can be verified.
While the iOS rollout is in progress and will be accessible soon following App Store approval, the Android rollout has been successfully finished. For an even more seamless booking experience, more improvements and user-friendly features will be added over the course of the coming days.
Odisha Yatri is more than just a digital service, according to Usha Padhee, IAS, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department. It is about giving people the freedom to travel and explore with confidence. The State is making travel more intelligent, secure, and inclusive by bringing mobility and tourism closer to the people through the “Ama Bus” and Chilika boating services.
In line with the State’s goal of an inclusive, connected, and future-ready Odisha, the Odisha Yatri app is quickly becoming a one-stop mobility and tourism platform.
