The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi met US Secretary of Commerce, H.E. Gina Raimondo who was in India from March 7 to 10, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The meeting was held on Friday.
The Prime Minister Office tweeted :
“US Secretary of Commerce @SecRaimondo had a fruitful meeting with PM @narendramodi yesterday.”
Raimondo was in India for four days and met with several ministers, including Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.
Earlier on Friday, India and the United States re-launched their commercial dialogue in order to discuss supply chain issues and reach an agreement on a semiconductor partnership initiative.
On Friday, US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and Indian Prime Minister Piyush Goyal held a joint press conference at the India-US Commercial Dialogue.
The discussion centered on several emerging topics, such as supply chain development, facilitating clean energy cooperation, talent development, and post-pandemic economic recovery for start-ups and small businesses.
Both dignitaries discussed the India-US strategic partnership, as well as economic and commercial engagement between the two countries, such as the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) and the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF).
