The words “Guest of Honor – the Republic of India” illuminated the Burj Khalifa just in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at the World Government Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Wednesday.
President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed PM Modi upon his arrival in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, the first day of his two-day visit to the Arab nation. Additionally, he received the Guard of Honour, a symbol of the cordial welcome and important diplomatic mission of the visit.

He held wide-ranging talks with the UAE’s President during which they reviewed the strategic partnership, discussed new areas of cooperation and witnessed the signing of several agreements, including a bilateral investment treaty.
The two leaders have met five times in the last seven months, and this is Modi’s seventh visit to the UAE since assuming office.
Both countries also signed agreements on the interlinking of digital payment platforms — UPI (India) and AANI (UAE). “This will facilitate seamless cross-border transactions between the two countries. This follows the MoU on interlinking payment and messaging systems signed in July last year during PM’s visit to Abu Dhabi,” the Ministry of External Affairs said.
PM Modi praised India and the UAE as “partners in progress” and stated that their relationships serve as an example for the rest of the world and are writing a new chapter in the third decade of the twenty-first century. He made these remarks while addressing the Indian diaspora at the “Ahlan Modi” (Hello Modi in Arabic) event held yesterday at Zayed Sports Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
“In terms of community and culture, the achievements of Bharat and the UAE serve as a model for the world to emulate,” he said.
Today, PM Modi is also scheduled to dedicate Abu Dhabi’s first Hindu temple. The first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) Mandir, is situated off the Dubai-Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Highway in Abu Mureikhah, close to Al Rahba.
Work on the structure began in 2019 and it is situated on about 27 acres of land in Abu Dhabi. The UAE government gave the land for it.\
