Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Bundelkhand Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district today.
“The Bundelkhand Expressway is a live example of the development of the Bundelkhand region. It will give a new identity to the region and will turn out to be a path for industrial investments,” Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said.
The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority built the 296-kilometer-long four-lane Bundelkhand Expressway at a cost of around 14,850 crore rupees (UPEIDA). The prime minister laid the expressway’s foundation stone in February 2020, and the project was completed in 28 months.
The prime minister had tweeted on Friday-
“The state-of-the-art Bundelkhand Expressway passes through 7 districts. The local economy will benefit tremendously due to it. There will be great industrial development in the region and this would bring more opportunities for the local youth”.
The expressway begins in Chitrakoot at Bharatkoop and connects with the Agra Lucknow expressway in Etawah. It cuts travel time to Delhi from Chitrakoot by 40%. One could get to Delhi in 6 hours instead of 10 hrs.
