Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to begin his five-nation tour on Wednesday, July 2nd, and will continue until July 9th. This tour, which will begin in Ghana, will be the prime minister’s longest diplomatic visit in nearly a decade.
Modi’s five-nation journey will concentrate on South American, Caribbean, and African nations.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the journey will begin in Ghana. The prime minister will travel from Ghana to Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean before continuing on to Argentina.
From Argentina, PM Modi will then leave for Brazil to attend the 17th BRICS 2025 Summit and then Namibia for the final leg of the four.

Ghana
PM Modi’s visit to Ghana will be his first since taking office ten years earlier. Furthermore, this visit is the first by an Indian prime minister in 30 years.
In Ghana, the prime minister will support the establishment of a vaccine hub, following which Modi will address the Ghanaian parliament.
Trinidad and Tobago
The visit is at the request of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar. Modi’s visit will be the first by an Indian prime minister in 25 years.
During this visit, the prime minister is due to address a joint session of Parliament.
Argentina
The prime minister will visit Argentina as the third stop on his tour, at the invitation of President Javier Milei. During their visit, the two leaders will hold bilateral talks and discuss ways to expand their ongoing cooperation in defense, agriculture, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, trade, and investment.
Brazil
After Argentina, the prime minister will travel to Brazil for the BRICS 2025 summit. This will be Prime Minister Modi’s fourth visit to Brazil.
At the BRICS summit, PM Modi is expected to address terrorism concerns, citing the recent Pahalgam incident and Operation Sindoor.
According to officials, the leaders’ declaration at the BRICS conference is anticipated to condemn the Pahalgam incident, which killed 26 people.
Namibia
The tour will conclude in Namibia, where an Indian prime minister will pay his first visit in 27 years.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will meet with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and address the Namibian parliament.
One of the main objectives of this tour would be to reach an agreement to adopt India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in Namibia. This decision is part of India’s digital payment effort, which is already underway in Bhutan, Mauritius, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, France, and the UAE.
