On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with his Polish counterpart, Donald Tusk.
He will also meet with Poland’s President Andrzej Duda and business leaders.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi will meet with Indologists and kabaddi players to explore what it is about India and Poland that draws them together on a personal level, according to Randhir Jaiswal, Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs.
Prime Minister Modi landed in Warsaw on Wednesday for a two-day visit to Poland, making him the first Indian leader to visit the central European country in 45 years.
On Wednesday, he paid tributes at the Dobry Maharaja Memorial, the Kolhapur Memorial, and the Monte Cassino Battle Monument before speaking to the Indian community in Warsaw.
Following his two-day visit to Poland, Prime Minister Modi will depart for Ukraine. This will be an Indian Prime Minister’s first visit to Ukraine since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992.
“From Poland, I will be visiting Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This is the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine. I look forward to the opportunity to build upon earlier conversations with President Zelenskyy on strengthening bilateral cooperation and share perspectives on the peaceful resolution of the ongoing Ukraine conflict. As a friend and partner, we hope for an early return of peace and stability in the region,” Prime Minister Modi said in a statement released by the MEA before his departure on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister’s visit to Kyiv will cover several elements of bilateral relations, such as politics, trade, economics, investments, education, culture, people-to-people exchanges, and humanitarian aid, according to MEA. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will connect with members of the Indian community, particularly students. The Prime Minister’s historic visit to Ukraine will assist to strengthen and expand bilateral ties.
