This will be the Prime Minister’s first visit to Odisha since June 12, when he attended the swearing-in ceremony of the state’s first BJP-led administration led by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi.
The Odisha government has planned the commencement of the Subhadra Yojana, a flagship welfare project with a budget allocation of over Rs 55,000 crore, to coincide with PM Modi’s birthday. The initiative intends to provide financial help to more than 1 crore women in the state, aged 21 to 60 years. Beneficiaries will receive Rs 10,000 annually for five years, with the first payment set for September 17.
