Pramod Bhagat, India’s most decorated badminton player, continued his winning streak by winning gold in the SL3 single category at the recently concluded Hulic Daihatsu Japan Para-Badminton International 2023.
According to reports, the star shuttler defeated India’s Manoj Sarkar in straight sets.
Pramod Bhagat got off to a fast start, winning the first set with a score of 21-16. Manoj made a great comeback in the second game, but Pramod had all the answers to Manoj’s challenges. Pramod won the second set 21-19, and the match lasted 38 minutes, with the final scores of 21-16 and 21-19.
Pramod Bhagat and Manisha Ramdass were defeated in the mixed doubles by the Chinese pair of Yang ianyuan and Yang Qiu Xia in a tough 3-setter, the final score read 21-14, 15-21 and 21-16 in favour of the Chinese squad.
Sukant Kadam, on the other hand, lost to Malaysia’s Mohd Amin Burhanuddin in the semi-finals to take bronze in the singles Sl4 category, while Tarun also took bronze.
