President Droupadi Murmu walked to the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha to see the deities on Thursday,
Murmu is in Odisha for two days starting today. She took a helicopter from Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar to Puri.
She was escorted to the 12th century shrine after landing in Puri. She walked to the temple along the Bada Danda (Grand Road).
Following her visit to the temple to see Lord Jagannath and other deities, she go to Puri Raj Bhawan, where she served Mahaprasad.
According to officials, devotees will be barred from entering the temple during the President’s visit.
In the afternoon, she return to Bhubaneswar and garland and garland the statues of eminent persons here. She then attend a civic reception at Raj Bhavan in the evening.
She will visit Tapoban High School in Khandagiri, Unit-2 Government Girls High School, and Kuntala Kumari Sabat Tribal Hostel, where she stayed, on the second day (November 11).
Before returning to Delhi on November 11, the President will also inaugurate an Odia engineering textbook and an e-Kumbh portal at Jaydev Bhawan.
