In the early hours of Sunday, President Droupadi Murmu left for her state visits to Suriname and Serbia.
The President will meet with Suriname leaders and a cross-section of the Indian Diaspora in Paramaribo during the first part of her visit (June 4–6).
The visit would deepen India’s long-standing ties with Suriname.
She was invited to Suriname by her Surinamese colleague, Chandrikapersad Santokhi.
During her visit, she will hold special meetings with President Santokhi and take part in a number of activities.
President Murmu will also conduct a visit to Serbia on June 7 at the invitation of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
