In preparation for President Droupadi Murmu’s four-day visit to Odisha beginning on February 28, security will be stepped up throughout the state. The President’s forthcoming tour includes stops in Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, and Berhampur in addition to Bhubaneswar.
30 police platoons would be stationed in the nation’s capital, Bhubaneswar, under the command of 85 officers, comprising 12 Additional DCPs, 25 ACPs, and 40 Inspectors of Police, according to Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh. Three Quick Response Teams and two Special Tactical Units will be deployed as part of the security preparations for the president’s visit.
The Blue Book has served as the foundation for the security arrangements. Parking, traffic, and carcades have all been planned for, starting at the route line.
As per the Blue Book guidelines, the entire capital city will turn into a fortified police camp. The venues will have the details of the invited guests as per the protocol. Care will be taken to avoid traffic problems for the smooth movement of the President’s convoy as well as the ease of the common people, DCP Prateek Singh informed on Monday.
