Security has been beefed up in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in preparation for President Droupadi Murmu’s two-day visit beginning February 10.
DCP Prateek Singh, Commissionerate Police, said 40 platoons of the police force will be deployed during President Murmu’s visit to the Twin Cities. He added that 200 police officers have been mobilized and will be in charge of the security arrangements.
Additionally, plain-clothed police officers and rooftop security forces will be deployed as part of the security measures. On Thursday, a full dress rehearsal will be held in preparation for her visit.
The preliminary part of the security review, including a guard of honour, will take place at Biju Patnaik International Airport, according to Singh (BPIA). All security arrangements are made in accordance with the rule book.
The President will attend two programs in Bhubaneswar and one in Cuttack during her two-day visit to Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. She is scheduled to offer prayers at the Lingaraj Temple on February 11th.
Tight security measures will be in place from the airport to the Raj Bhawan and the locations of the President’s events. Personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will be in charge of the President’s security at the airport during Murmu’s arrival and departure.
On February 10, the President will attend the convocation of Rama Devi Women’s University in Bhubaneswar, as well as another event at Utkal Mandap. The following day, President Murmu will pay a visit to the Lingaraj temple in the capital before launching the 2nd Indian Rice Congress at the ICAR in Cuttack.
