Thousands of devotees flocked to Puri today to witness Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra’s Nabajaubana Besha at the Shree Jagannath Temple.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the Nabajaubana Darshan has been canceled for the last two years. The devotees appeared pleased to have darshan of the deities in the Nabajaubana Besha because it is believed that the Holy Trinity appears in youthful form on this day after recovering from fever caused by the bath on Snana Purnima.
The deities had previously been treated at the Anasara Ghara for 14 days.
According to the schedule, Parimanik (paid) darshan was held for one hour from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. after the temple opened in the morning.
According to the schedule, devotees will be able to receive general darshan from 9 a.m. to 10.30 a.m., 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., 6 p.m. to 6.30 p.m., 9 p.m. to 10.30 p.m., and 11.30 p.m. to 12.30 a.m
However, general darshan will be restricted from 10.30 am to 2 pm, 3 pm to 6 pm, 6.30 pm to 9 pm, and 10.30 pm to 11.30 pm for special deity rituals at the temple.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has also announced the schedule for deity darshan on June 30 (a day before Ratha Jatra).
On June 30, a day before Ratha Jatra, devotees can see deities at the temple from 4 a.m. to 6.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. to 1.30 p.m., and 3.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
For devotees, general darshan will be limited from 6.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm.
