The world-famous Bahuda Yatra, the return journey of the holy trinity, will take place today in Puri, Odisha. The holy trinity’s return journey to Srimandir on their three chariots is known as the Bahuda Yatra. The deities begin their Bahuda Yatra on the 10th day after spending a week inside the Gundicha temple.
The rituals and schedule for the Bahuda Yatra are the same as for the Ratha Yatra. The three chariots stop for a while on the way back at the Mausima Temple, also known as Ardhasani Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath’s aunt. Poda Pitha, a special sweet made of rice, coconut, lentils, and jaggery, is served to three deities here.
Following that, the three deities begin their journey to Jagannath temple. The chariots of Balabhadra and Subhadra are drawn and parked at the temple’s Singha Dwara. Whereas Jagannath’s chariot comes to a halt in front of the King’s palace.
