The famous Rath Yatra of Hindu Lord Jagannath in Odisha’s Puri resumed on Saturday morning after it was halted on Friday due to sunset.
The Rath Yatra resumed with a yajna ceremony. The three chariots—Nandi Ghosh (Lord Jagannath), Darpadalan (Goddess Subhadra), and Taladhwaj (Lord Balabhadra)—are pulled again from Rathkhala to the Grand Road, i.e., Bada Danda Marg. There is a wave of excitement among devotees, who welcome the Lord with chants of ‘Jai Jagannath’.
The Puri district police and administration have made special preparations for crowd management. Additional police force, AI-enabled CCTV cameras, drone surveillance, medical staff, and water have been arranged to ensure the second phase of the festival proceeds smoothly.
Shree Jagannatha Temple, Puri, shared a post on social media X
and wrote, “The auspicious Aarti of Lord Shri Balabhadra, the great deity riding the chariot, has been completed.”
