The Ratna Bhandar of Puri Srimandir will be opened today after a gap of 46 years. Agyanmala, or the garland of consent, is brought from Loknath Temple as part of the rite for the Ratna Bhandar’s opening. A unique pooja was done by attendants.
The sacred Lokanatha Temple has provided the holy agyanmala, which is required before the Ratna Bhandar can open. The auspicious event began when the temple servants performed Maharudrabhisekh puja to collect agyanmala and proceeded in a procession towards the Jagannath Temple.
Notably, Maa Bimla, Baba Lokanath, Maa Lakshmi, and Shree Lokanath will all be present when the Ratna Bhandar is opened.
According to SJTA Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee, temporary restrictions will be implemented when the Committee members proceed to Ratna Bhandar. All gates except Singhadwara will be closed, and only authorized personnel and servitors will be permitted entry, as per the designated list. Additionally, Committee members will undergo security screening near Beherandwara, and the entire process will be videographed, adhering to the established Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Ahead to Ratna Bhandar’s opening, the high-level committee is currently holding an important meeting. In order to prepare for the inspection and opening of Ratna Bhandar, the conference will center on a thorough discussion of the standard operating procedure (SOP) and other important issues.
It is important to mention that the Reserve Bank of India has been consulted in order to guarantee transparency in the ornament inventory. In order to collaborate with the managing committee team, RBI personnel will be in attendance. According to sources, the Chief Administrator of the SJTA has been assigned the responsibility of ensuring a seamless process.
