Royal Enfield introduced the Classic 650 at EICMA 2024 in November of last year. The 650cc Classic has been in development for a long time, and test mules have been spotted several times in recent years. The motorcycle was intended to be released before the end of this year.
The debut was postponed, and now the Chennai-based company has stated that the Classic 650 will be available on March 27, 2025. When it arrives, it will be the sixth Enfield model in the series, following the Interceptor, Continental GT, Super Meteor, Shotgun, and Bear.

Some dealers across India have already begun accepting unofficial bookings for the Classic 650. This new 650 cc motorcycle shares its mainframe with the Super Meteor and Shotgun 650 while retaining the iconic design of the Classic 350, the company’s most successful model.

The Classic 650 has a spherical LED headlamp with ‘tiger lights’ or pilot lamps, a sleek teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a single seat (with an optional pillion seat). It is powered by a parallel-twin engine and has twin exhausts, like previous 650 cc models save the Bear 650.

The Classic 650 features all-LED lighting, a Type-C charging port, and adjustable brake and clutch levers. Royal Enfield has kept the Classic 350’s semi-analogue display, which incorporates a speedometer as well as a multi-information display with a digital fuel gauge, gear indication, odometer, and clock.

The Classic 650 has a steel tubular spine frame and 43 mm telescopic front forks that provide 120 mm of wheel travel. The rear suspension comprises of twin shock absorbers with a wheel travel of 90mm. This new motorcycle combines parts with the Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650 versions. It features a single 320 mm disc brake in the front and a 300 mm disc brake in the rear. The seat height is 800 mm, the ground clearance is 154 mm, and the fuel tank has a capacity of 14.8 litres.

Royal Enfield Classic 650: Expected Powertrain
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin oil-cooled engine used in the rest of the Royal Enfield 650cc series. This motor produces 46.4 bhp and 52.3 Nm of peak torque while connected to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch.
