Yash Raj Films in India has scheduled a mid-November release date for “Tiger 3,” the anticipated spy-action thriller starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi. Due to the complications of the holiday season, the business devised a “strategic and unique release plan.”
YRF has unveiled a full trailer after previously only releasing teaser video.
Unusually, the film will be released in Indian and international theaters on November 12th, the first day of Diwali.
“2023 is the year of ‘Adhik Maas’ which has led to complications regarding festival dates. This year, Monday, Nov. 13 is New Moon/Amavasya and the Govardhan Pooja/Gujarati New Year falls on Nov. 14. Bhai Dooj is on November 15, giving the film an extended run in this crucial holiday period which will aid in collections through the week,” said YRF.
The film is the latest installment in producer Aditya Chopra’s spy universe, directed by Maneesh Sharma (“Band Baaja Baaraat”).
The espionage universe began with the Tiger franchise, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, commencing with “Ek Tha Tiger” (2012) and continuing with “Tiger Zinda Hai” (2017), and will conclude with “War” (2019), featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. “Pathaan,” starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, was released in January and has grossed $130 million in India. The four films have grossed over $300 million.
Tiger is in danger after being framed as enemy number one in “Tiger 3,” and he embarks on a life-threatening expedition to find his adversaries. Tiger wants to clear his name for his country and for his family and he won’t stop at anything.
