After resigning from the BJD, Nimapara MLA and former minister Samir Ranjan Dash joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at its state headquarters, where he was joined by party president Manmohan Samal, BJP’s state election in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar, Nimapara MLA candidate Pravati Parida, and others.
Dash and his supporters joined the saffron party, impressed by the BJP’s ideals and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
After joining the party, Dash stated that he would faithfully carry out whatever obligations the party assigned him.
“I had been working in BJD as a disciplined worker for last several years. But, the party and its leader didn’t trust me and my organisation in Nimapara. I can’t work in a party where there is a trust deficit. Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and his style of functioning inspired him to join the BJP. I will work for the party with dedication irrespective of position,” Dash said.
The legislator resigned from the BJD this morning, claiming a lack of confidence in him by the party’s head.
The BJD had denied him a ticket to run in the election. Instead of him, the regional party gave a ticket to Dillip Nayak of Nimapara.
