Share Market Close Highlightds: Sensex ends 275pts lower; Nifty at 25,758

Sensex today | Stock Market Close Highlights, Wednesday, Dec 10: Prior to the US Federal Reserve’s monetary policy announcement later today, benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty50 finished lower on Wednesday.

At 84,391.27, the BSE Sensex closed down 275.01 points, or 0.32 percent. Similarly, the Nifty50 closed at 25,758, down 81.65 points, or 0.32 percent.

The biggest gainers on the 30-share BSE Sensex index were Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, and ITC. Conversely, top drags included Eternal, Trent, and Bharti Airtel.

Wider markets finished lower. The Nifty SmallCap 100 index concluded 0.90 percent lower, while the Nifty MidCap 100 index settled 1.12 percent worse.

Nifty Consumer Durables was the biggest sectoral loser, down 1.72 percent, followed by IT (0.89 percent) and PSU Bank (0.70 percent). In contrast, the Nifty Metal and Media indices concluded as the top sectors gains.
