Stock market close highlights on Tuesday, November 4, 2025: On Tuesday, Indian equities markets experienced a further selloff in the second half of the session, led by a drop in information technology and metal sectors.
Following an initial advance, the BSE Sensex closed 519.34 points, or 0.62 percent, lower at 83,459.15. During the session, the index gained as much as 0.11 percent. Meanwhile, the Nifty50 closed 165.70 points, or 0.64%, lower at 25,597.65.
On the BSE, the top losers were Power Grid, Eternal, Tata Motors PV, Tata Steel, and Maruti Suzuki, while Titan, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, M&M, and SBI were among the top gainers.
Broader indices slumped alongside frontline stocks. The Nifty Midcap 100 index closed 0.42 percent lower, while the Nifty SmallCap 100 index fell 0.82 percent.
The Nifty Consumer Durables was the only sector to show growth, up 0.39 percent. On the negative, Nifty Metal fell the most, 1.44 percent, followed by IT (0.06 percent) and Auto (0.86 percent).
