Stock Market Highlights today, September 11, 2025: The major Indian market indices closed on a positive note on Thursday, boosted by increases in banking and oil and gas firms. The BSE Sensex closed up 123.58 points, or 0.15 percent, at 81,548.73.
The NSE Nifty50 closed at 25,005.50, up 32.40 points, or 0.13 percent.
NTPC, Axis Bank, Eternal, Power Grid, and Bharti Airtel were among the top Sensex constituents, with gains of much to 1.60 percent. Meanwhile, Infosys, Titan Company, UltraTech Cement, HUL, and BEL were the worst laggards, down up to 1.35 percent.
Among the broader markets, the Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 indices closed with 0.12% and 0.3% advances, respectively.
The Nifty Oil & Gas and Media indices were the biggest sectoral gainers, with increases of more than 1% apiece. Furthermore, all banking-related indices on the NSE closed in the green. Conversely, Nifty IT, Auto, and Consumer Durables were among the sectoral laggards, closing down up to 0.50 percent.
Market breadth remained strong, with 1,541 of the 3,150 traded stocks on the NSE closing in the green and 1,516 ending in the red. Meanwhile, 93 stocks were unchanged.
The market capitalisation of NSE-listed businesses was $5.14 trillion.
