Stock Market Highlights, Wednesday, November 27, 2024: The key equity indices, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50, closed higher on Wednesday, tracking their worldwide peers. The BSE Sensex rose to an intra-day high of 80,511.15 before finishing at 80,234.08, up 230.02 points, or 0.29 percent, from the previous close.
Similarly, the NSE Nifty50 closed at 24,274.90, up 80.40 points, or 0.33 percent. On Wednesday, the index traded between 24,354.55 and 24,145.65.
25 of the Nifty50’s 50 constituent stocks closed in the green, with Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, BEL, Trent, and NTPC leading the way with gains of up to 11.56 percent. Apollo Hospitals, Titan Company, Wipro, Shriram Finance, and Hindalco were among the 25 equities that finished in the red, with losses ranging up to 1.34 percent.
Notably, NTPC Green Energy, which debuted today, rose 8.74 percent to Rs 121.25 on the NSE from its IPO allotment price of Rs 108.
Among the larger markets, small-cap stocks stole the show, with the Nifty Smallcap100 index rising 1.30 percent. Meanwhile, the Nifty Midcap 100 index rose by 0.64 percent.
Sectoral markets also closed broadly on a positive note, with all indexes in the green save the Nifty IT, Pharma, PSU Bank, Realty, and Healthcare indices.
