Sensex today | Stock Market Close Highlights today, Tuesday, January 13, 2026: Indian benchmark indices, the BSE Sensex and the NSE Nifty50, closed down, driven by drops in consumer durables and real estate sectors, as investors remained cautious ahead of US-India trade talks.
Sergio Gor, the US Ambassador to India, stated on Monday that the two countries will undertake trade discussions today.
Nonetheless, the BSE Sensex closed at 83,627.69, down 250.48 points or 0.30 percent, while the NSE Nifty 50 down 57.95 points, or 0.22 percent, to 25,732.30.
Eternal, Tech Mahindra, and ICICI Bank were top gainers on 30-share BSE Sensex. On the flip side, Trent, L&T and IndiGo were top drags. On NSE, ONGC, Eternal and ICICI Bank were top gainers. On the flipside, Trent, L&T and Dr Reddy’s were top losers.
The broader market finished mixed. The Nifty Midcap 100 index fell 0.20 percent, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 index rose 0.60 percent.
Nifty Consumer Durables (down 0.89 percent) and Realty (0.62 percent) were the biggest drags. On the other hand, Nifty PSU Bank (up 0.78%) and media (0.76%) were the top sectors gainers.
